 Night 1 of Blitz Table Tennis Club Championships

Last night (Monday 25th April) marked the first night of Blitz Table Tennis Club Championships. The 2 competitions for the night were: Veteran Singles (Over 40’s) and Intermediate Singles (20–39-year-olds). 

Both events were played out for position meaning there was lots of matches for all involved. 

Finishing positions for veterans’ singles were as followed: 

1st = Jeff Reay 

2nd = Phil Dowd 

3rd = Phill Dixon 

4th Simon Brash 

5th = Jon Colley 

6th = Paul Gittings 

7th = Michael Melling 

8th = Paul Cooper 

Congratulations to Jeff Reay who managed to defend his veterans singles title from the last club championships in 2019. 

Congratulations also go to Paul Johnson who won the intermediate singles beating Bailey Pye 3-1, who finished 2nd and Steve Johnson 3-0, who finished 3rd. 

The next night of the Blitz Table Tennis Club Championships will be held on Monday 9th May, which will be the Open Singles and Division 2 Singles.
