On the 6th and 7th November, Blitz table tennis club took a team of 4 players to compete in the Junior British League at Derby Arena.

The players representing Blitz Table Tennis Club were Luke Hyde, Teddy Heather, Joel Smith and Abraham Sellado.

The Blitz boys had a tough first match against Draycott table tennis club, loosing 1 – 5 overall. There were a few nerves to start off with, but some great table tennis came through within their matches as our players settled into the event.

In the afternoon the boys played against Ellenborough Table Tennis Club in a very close match where they lost 2 – 4, with Abraham taking the 2 wins.

The first match on Sunday was against Darlington Table Tennis Club. This match was very close with some good games where blitz came away with a 3 – 3 draw. Teddy Heather and Joel Smith also took their first wins of the competition.

The final match of the weekend was against Torbay Table Tennis Academy. Blitz lost 2 – 4 overall, but all players showed great determination and fought for every point resulting in some great matches to watch.

The overall weekend was a fantastic experience for our players and opened their eyes to what Table Tennis can offer. The players showed a great team spirit and have come away from the event determined to work hard and are already looking forward to the next weekend of Junior British League.
