Senior British League Weekend One

On the weekend of the 25th/26th of September Blitz Senior players travelled to Halton Table Tennis Club in Widnes, where they competed in the Senior British League National C1 Division. The players representing the team were Peter Cowburn, Steve Johnson, and Steve Fox. Unfortunately, Joel Smith was unable to attend due to injury.

With starting 2-0 down in every match, it was always going to be a difficult weekend for the team, nevertheless the team showed great fighting spirit and remained unbeaten in the doubles throughout the weekend.

The weekend consisted of many close matches with team losing their first match 4-5 to Knighton Park, losing their second match 3-6 to Bromley Table Tennis Club and then losing their final match of the weekend 1-8 to Birmingham Academy. Peter Cowburn was the player of the weekend winning 3 out of his 6 matches and playing in every doubles match in which they were unbeaten.

The next round of matches will be played on Saturday 11th December.
